Renovated Bath Beach Park Playground Opens to Public

EnTech recently celebrated the opening of the Bath Beach Park playground, in Brooklyn, following a $5 million renovation. EnTech served as the construction manager for the project, which replaced a dilapidated playground and asphalt field with a new playground and fitness area. The project included new lighting, plantings for shade and aesthetics, drinking fountains, water supply, drainage, curbs, safety surfacing, and fencing.

Karim Palomino Joins EnTech as Vice President of Transportation Services

EnTech is thrilled to introduce Karim Palomino, PE, as the firm’s Vice President of Transportation Services. Karim will manage and support EnTech’s robust program of transportation CM services, further develop the firm’s strong relationships with its clients, and collaborate across disciplines with EnTech’s design, VDC, and other CM departments.

Celebrating the Opening of Grand Central Madison

EnTech has welcomed the recent opening of Grand Central Madison, a new rail terminal underneath the historic Grand Central Terminal. This expansive new facility brings Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) commuter service to Manhattan’s East Side for the first time, greatly increasing train capacity to and from Manhattan and reducing commute lengths for more than 100,000 commuters daily.

Mehdi Sameti Promoted to Associate Vice President

EnTech is pleased to announce that Mehdi Sameti, PE, DBIA, has been promoted to Associate Vice President of CM Services. In this role, Mehdi will continue to manage and expand EnTech’s portfolio and market share of CM/REI projects with New York City and New York State parks departments. In addition, he will advance EnTech’s CM/REI building and design-build projects.

NYC Wastewater Resiliency Program CM

EnTech is providing construction management and inspection services for this crucial program throughout the construction phase at six WRRFs: Hunts Point, in the Bronx; Newtown Creek, in Brooklyn; Bowery Bay and Tallman Island, in Queens; Port Richmond, in Staten Island; and Wards Island, in the East River. Together these six facilities serve 4.2 million New Yorkers.

EnTech REI Team Celebrates Completion of Major Water Infrastructure Project

EnTech recently celebrated the ribbon cutting of QED991, a major water main and sewer upgrade project for the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), in northeastern Queens. EnTech, in joint venture, led REI services for this $78 million project, which installed more than 7 miles of trunk main, distribution water main, and combined sewer.

Spotlight: Mina Saleh, VDC Manager

EnTech would like to congratulate Mina Saleh on the successful completion of a year in her new role as VDC Manager. In her new role Mina is devoted largely to proposals and business development. She says that one of her key goals is to foster connections and consistency between proposal teams and the VDC teams who ultimately complete the projects. “This helps our department make sure we are working based on the same assumptions, so that we can complete projects efficiently,” she says. “Other goals of mine are to provide consistency in the proposals and services we provide to clients, and to expand our market.”

Riverside Drive Viaduct Rehabilitation

EnTech’s REI team is currently at work on a crucial roadway project in Upper Manhattan: the rehabilitation of the Riverside Drive Viaduct. This 78-span elevated structure carries six lanes of traffic between West 153rd and West 161st streets. A historically significant structure, whose first segment was built in 1908, it offers scenic views of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades. The viaduct forms part of an exceptionally dense network of civil infrastructure—Amtrak’s Empire Line runs directly underneath one segment of the viaduct, and numerous masonry and high-rise buildings abut the viaduct’s eastern side.

Samsudeen Arakhan Promoted to Senior Vice President

In exciting news for EnTech’s environmental practice, Samsudeen (Sam) Arakhan has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Environmental Engineering Services. In this role, Sam will continue to manage the firm’s environmental team, which provides a wide range of services for various bridge, roadway, rail, water infrastructure, sanitation, recreational, and healthcare projects, among others. Sam will additionally spearhead the pursuit of new business opportunities and continue to lead the expansion of EnTech’s environmental service offerings. Congratulations on the promotion, Sam!

George Sholy Promoted to Senior Vice President

We are thrilled to announce that George Sholy has been promoted to Senior Vice President/New Jersey Office Head. George has been serving as EnTech’s Vice President of Design Services/New Jersey Office Manager. George’s new role will concentrate on managing the New Jersey office operations and leading BD for clients in New Jersey. George will continue to offer his support and expertise to NY BD and the design services team, including civil, environmental, geotechnical, and traffic engineering departments. EnTech REI Team Hosts NYCDDC and NYCDEP Commissioners

EnTech recently hosted a visit by the commissioners of the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) and New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), as well as other city officials, at the Vernon Boulevard location of NYCDDC project QED1050, which entails the installation of distribution water main. The commissioners were pleased with the progress that EnTech’s team had made in a short period of time, especially considering the extensive underground utility interferences in the area.
