EnTech REI Team Hosts NYCDDC and NYCDEP Commissioners

EnTech staff were commended by city leadership for strong work overseeing the emergency installation of distribution water main in Queens.

Project: Installation of Distribution Water Mains REI
Services:
Construction Management
Location: Bronx and Queens, NY
Owner: New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC)
Construction Cost: $7.8M

EnTech recently hosted a visit by the commissioners of the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) and New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), as well as other city officials, at the Vernon Boulevard location of NYCDDC project QED1050, which entails the installation of distribution water main. The commissioners were pleased with the progress that EnTech’s team had made in a short period of time, especially considering the extensive underground utility interferences in the area.

EnTech is the prime REI consultant for the $7.8 million project, which involves the replacement of more than 10,000 linear feet of 8”, 12”, and 20” distribution water main across several Queens and Bronx neighborhoods. This location, in Long Island City, involves emergency work to replace existing 20” water main dating from the 1930s. The old water main had broken twice in the past 18 months, causing major flooding in the area, including to a NYCHA housing development, creating hardships for residents.

EnTech is continuing to supervise other emergency locations under this contact. The firm’s current team includes Kowat Bahrami, Omeed Entezarian, Robert Hammer, and Youseph Rasheed. Congratulations to all on the strong work.
